Breakout Room Discussions Information

Breakout Room Discussions

The workshop will host several breakout rooms where ideas for future beamlines to be cited at a new 4th Generation Synchrotron Facility can be discussed.

The vehicle for submitting beamline pitches will be via a short (3 slide maximum) PowerPoint presentation. An example presentation can be downloaded here.

You do not need to use this template for your slides, but your presentation should include the following:

Title Slide – Name of prospective beamline; Name of presenter; Affiliation; Email address

Slide 1 - Description of New Beamline or Capability. Identify the type of beamline. Indicate (if known) the type of performance specifications & measurement modes. Indicate an equivalent beamline at a current or planned 4th Generation Synchrotron Facility.

Slide 2 - Description of Scientific Fields & Research Community. Indicate fields of research that will benefit from the new beamline capability. Indicate industry and academic organisations or researchers who would be major users of such a beamline

Slide 3 - A Case Study to Highlight the New Beamline Capability Give a specific example of a research outcome that showcases the capabilities of the new beamline.

Please send your Powerpoint slides to us ahead of the Workshop (by Monday, 14th of June) by Email to: Bettina Richen

In the body of your email please indicate which Breakout Session would best suit your proposed beamline:
