Description
A new clinical mode will be introduced in IMBL beamline at Australian Synchrotron to prepare the beamline for Breast CT experiments with human volunteers. To make sure that both volunteers and personnel are safe during the imaging, a safety system will be designed and implemented. The core of that safety system is called iPaSS (imaging Patient Safety System) and it will use the Siemens S7 1500F platform to control the experiment sequence, coordinate 4 different safety/positioning/control systems and stop the beam in less than 200 ms if dose rate is not correct.
