Founded in 1968, the organisation gathers annually to discuss and exchange information to the benefit of all who attend. The topics covered include ion sources, electrostatic and RF accelerators, telemetry and control systems, cryogenic systems, vacuum technology, beam transport, safety issues and many other topics relevant to small to medium sized particle accelerators and complementary research facilities. The meeting format includes submitted abstracts, oral and poster presentations, demonstrations and open discussions. Invitations extend to vendors to make formal presentations on the latest technologies and trends in their devices and products. Attendees include representatives from Universities, National Laboratories, and Industrial Research Laboratories from the U.S. and many other countries including: Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Denmark, France, Germany, Finland, India, Italy, Japan, Russia, Sweden, The Netherlands, New Zealand, and others. This year, the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) is hosting the 50th annual SNEAP and 8th Australasian Accelerator Technical Forum (ATF) meetings in Sydney, Australia. It will be the seventh time SNEAP has been hosted outside of North America in the last 20 years. We feel privileged to have this opportunity on this auspicious anniversary for SNEAP to provide a very informative and interesting program.
