DESCRIPTION:AONSA 2018 Neutron School\n\nThis school provides an introduct
 ion to neutron scattering techniques including hands-on experiments and da
 ta analysis conducted using available instruments at ANSTO.\n\nDuring five
  days intensive study course you will have the opportunity to learn from t
 op level scientists and conduct practical work on some of the world’s to
 p neutron instruments here at ANSTO.\n\nScientists\, engineers and technic
 ians will be on hand to assist your learning experience\, providing you wi
 th skills that you can utilise at neutron sources across the world.\n\nAbo
 ut the School\n\nLectures sessions will cover a range of neutron scatterin
 g and diffraction techniques with scientific applications in a diverse ran
 ge of fields including chemistry\, physics\, engineering and archeology. D
 uring the five days intensive study course\, you will also have the opport
 unity to learn from leading experts and conduct practical work on some of 
 the world’s top neutron instruments. Scientists\, engineers and technici
 ans from within the Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering will be on ha
 nd to assist your learning experience.\n\nThe goal is to provide you with 
 skills that you can utilize at neutron sources across the world and to ope
 n a new avenue for your future research.\n\nWho should attend?\n\nGraduate
  students\, PhD students\, post-doctoral and early-career researchers who 
 want to learn about neutron elastic and inelastic scattering and diffracti
 on.\n\nSelection criteria\n\nThe school is open to both local and internat
 ional participants\, however there is a strict limit of 30 participants\, 
 to ensure small group sizes for the practical experiments. The registratio
 n fee will cover your accommodation and meals for the entire week.\n\nThe 
 school organizers may provide limited financial support to cover travel ex
 penses depending on the availability of funds. Applicants who request fina

 nApplicants are requested to complete the application form with justificat
 ion for their attendance. While previous knowledge of neutron scattering t
 echniques is not essential\, it is preferred. Preference will also be give
 n to those applicants who can demonstrate a future need for the neutron sc
