DESCRIPTION:The impacts of climate change place an enormous burden on ecos
 ystems and landscapes from mountains and deserts\, to lakes\, rivers\, and
  coasts and oceans. This FNCA project focuses on the application of nuclea
 r and isotopic techniques to identify and date past ecosystem\, landscape 
 and climate changes.\n\nThe first coordination meeting aims to gain an und
 erstanding of what and how techniques are being applied in the region\, ad
 dress key questions and knowledge gaps\, identify areas of overlap and the
  potential for new initiatives. It will run over three and a half days and
  include talks and poster presentations by participating countries and inv
 ited Australian researchers working in the region\, a tour of the Australi
 an Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) facilities\, and op
 portunities for small group discussions by theme and/or region. A report s
 ummarising the meeting and plan for the remainder of the project will be p
 roduced\, and a scientific publication including a review of the current s
 tate of knowledge\, key questions and gaps will be prepared. We look forwa
