DESCRIPTION:The New User Symposium offers an introduction to the capabilit
 ies offered at the Australian Synchrotron. The bi-annual one-day event is 
 tailored to novice potential Users of these techniques\, and is to be held
  this year online.\n\nAspects of the event include access arrangements\, i
 ncluding available support\, and some of the typical applications of techn
 iques across biomedical research\, materials and physical sciences and env
 ironmental fields.\n\nIt has been timed to allow online attendance from in
 terested Users from time zones from Singapore to New Zealand.\n\nTechnique
 s highlighted include:\n\n•              Diffraction\n\n•
               Protein Crystallography and Structural Biology\
 n\n•              Microscopy: Infrared\, THz/Far-Infrared\,
  X-ray fluorescence\n\n•              Spectroscopy\n\n• 
              X-Ray Imaging\n\n•              Sm
 all Angle X-Ray Scattering\n\nThese methods encompass a huge range of rese
 arch areas: Biosciences and Health\, Chemistry\, Earth and Environmental S
 cience\, Physics\, Advanced Materials\, Agriculture and Food Processing\, 
 Engineering and Manufacturing\, Cultural Heritage and Archaeology\, Energy
  and Sustainability Science.\n\nThere will be opportunities to ask questio
 ns of beamline\, user office\, lab\, scientific computing staff.\n\nThere
