DESCRIPTION:The powder diffraction teams from the Australian Synchrotron a
 nd OPAL are hosting a 3 day powder diffraction data analysis workshop 
  for beginners aimed at post-graduate students and early career researche
 rs.\n\nThis workshop aims to cover all stages of data analysis\, beginning
  at sample preparation\, radiation choice\, experimental setup and data co
 llection strategies\, through to data analysis approaches.  \n\nTopics w
 ill include\; basic crystallography\, indexing\, search-match\, wavelength
  refinement\, geometry corrections and an introduction to advanced analysi
 s techniques. Tutorial sessions will be used to practically reinforce the 
 material presented.\n\nTutorials will be split into 2 parallel sessions: 
 one using TOPAS and one using GSAS II.\n\nPriority will be given to applic
 ants with synchrotron or neutron data or with awarded beamtime.\n\nThe wor
 kshop is free. Accomodation and some meals will be provided for country a
 nd interstate participants. Participants are responsible for their travel 
 to the workshop.\n\nLectures and tutorials will be presented by the AS bea
 mline team\, Prof. Vanessa Peterson (ACNS\, ANSTO)\, Dr. Zhiyang Wang (IM
 E\, ANSTO)\, Dr. Nathan Webster (CSIRO)\, Dr. Claire Murray (Diamond Light
